🎯 Learning Objectives

By the end of this module, the Project & Joinery team will be able to:

1. Initialize a new wardrobe or kitchen project using the 12-task pipeline.
2. Assign CNC cutting, edge-banding, and assembly tasks to workshop technicians.
3. Manage material staging at the client site and track carcass laser alignment.
4. Execute the snag inspection protocol and obtain final client handover sign-off.

📋 Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

SOP 2.1: Initializing a Project from Sales Order

• Steps:
  1. Open the confirmed Sales Order.
  2. Click Create → Project.
  3. Select Project Template: Custom Interior Fitting (Wardrobe / Kitchen / Cabinetry).
  4. Set target completion date (standard: 21–25 days from deposit payment).
  5. Save to auto-populate the 12 standard tasks.

SOP 2.2: Tracking Workshop Tasks (CNC, Edge-Banding & Assembly)

• Steps:
  1. Open the project Gantt chart or Task list.
  2. Task 4 (Material Requisition): Check that raw boards have arrived at Main Store - EHS.
  3. Task 5 (Panel CNC Sizing): Assign to CNC operator. Mark Completed once all panels are cut.
  4. Task 6 (PVC Edge-Banding & Assembly): Ensure 1mm PVC edge tape is applied with hot-melt adhesive. Assemble carcasses in workshop to verify squareness.

SOP 2.3: Site Installation & Laser Leveling

• Steps:
  1. Task 7 (Delivery): Verify package counts delivered to Site Staging - EHS.
  2. Task 8 (Carcass Mounting): Laser level base units, shim gaps, and anchor wall cabinets.
  3. Task 9 & 10 (Doors, Drawers & Countertops): Clip on hydraulic soft-close hinges, install tandem boxes, template & secure quartz worktop.
  4. Task 11 (Polishing & Calibration): Vacuum sawdust, peel protective plastics, and calibrate hinge 3D alignment screws.

SOP 2.4: Snagging & Final Handover

• Steps:
  1. Open Task 12: Joint Snag Inspection & Client Sign-off Handover.
  2. Complete joint walk-through with client.
  3. Clear all snag items within 48 hours.
  4. Upload signed handover certificate to the Project record and mark project as Completed.

Scenario: You have a new project Lavington Villa - Modular Kitchen.

• Task:
  1. Create the project linked to the 12-task template.
  2. Assign Task 5 (Panel Sizing) to carpenter John Kiprop.
  3. Mark tasks 1 through 6 as Completed to simulate workshop completion.
